Beautiful turquoise Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, surrounded by a forest of Engelmann spruce, is covered in ice most of the year.

For a few short months in summer, it comes to life when hikers, horseback riders and canoeists come to the Canadian Rockies to take advantage of the magnificent surroundings.
