Short photographic travelogue of day 20 of my first-ever trip to Japan in the spring of 2006.

Day 20 of my first Japan trip in 2006 was a very rainy one. I took the ferry from Hiroshima to Miyajima, where I went to visit Itsukushima Shrine with its famous “floating” torii gate.

Walking around the island, there were some other historic places to be seen as well. This photo shows the stairs ascending to Daisho-in Temple, where a festival was in progress.
