August 6, Hiroshima, Japan

広島県・広島市・原爆ドーム

80 years ago today, on August 6, 1945, Hiroshima was the first military target of a nuclear weapon in history.

This photo of the A-Bomb Dome, the closest surviving building to the location of the bomb’s detonation, was taken on my first trip to Japan in the spring of 2006.

Shot with Nikon D200 and Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Edited in Lightroom 5.7.
