Four Random Scenes from Helsinki, Finland

フィンランド・ヘルシンキ

Taken during a recent stay in Helsinki, Finland, here are four scenes photographed in different areas of the city.

The first image was taken on Aleksanterinkatu in Kluuvi, the commercial center of Helsinki, Finland. In Carl Ludvig Engel’s early 19th-century plan of Helsinki, it was the main east-west street in the city. Since 1949, it is also the official Christmas Street of Finland.

All photos shot with iPhone 15 Pro. Edited in ON1 Photo RAW 2026.

The next image was taken on the top floor of Kamppi Shopping Center. This poster with a stylized drawing of Samuel L. Jackson (in his famous “Pulp Fiction” character) hung in a restaurant window was a slightly unexpected sight.

Visiting Helsinki during the early 2nd half of May was a good time to see blossoming flowers and trees. Here is a nice scene from a courtyard near Senate Square, with chairs and tables ready to be used by restaurant patrons.

Our hotel in Helsinki was located fairly close to the Church of the German Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Finland. It was nice to take a morning stroll through this area after breakfast, and to spend some time in the adjacent park.
