My 35mm film camera between 2012 and 2026 was a mid-1980s Nikon FE2, which I shot with either the 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor lens, or the 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens (pictured below). In my opinion, this is one of the best camera bodies that Nikon ever made, with a simple set of straightforward mechanical controls. I used a sturdy $5 key strap as a hand strap for this camera.

I had purchased this mint Nikon FE2 at Fujiya Camera in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan. At the same place I had also found the two lenses mentioned above.
